Dr. Hori is an Interventional Oncologist and Chief Director of Institute for Image Guided Therapy in Osaka, Japan and the developer of this revolutionary technique that he carries out in more than 1200 patients a year.

The technique is called _Transcatheter Arterial Chemoembolization_ or _TACE_, and is a minimally invasive procedure that was originally used to treat liver tumors. Now it Is widely applied to treat breast cancer, lung cancer, hepatic metastases, ovarian cancer, uterine fibroids, and other tumors.

Step-by-step of the process
- A catheter is inserted in the arterial system until it accesses the tumor.
- It delivers anti-cancer chemotherapy drugs directly to the cancerous tumor.
- It blocks (enbolizes) the blood vessel that feeds the tumor with blood and stop the artery from supplying nutrients to the tumor.
- This revolutionary technique decreases the dose of chemotherapy exposure to healthy parts of the body along with those terrible side effects and at the same time, maximizes the dose directed specifically at the tumor.
