This major symposium is in honor of the distinguished work and lifetime achievements of Prof. Dr. Manfred Mauntz. Professor Mauntz is a well-known person for his profound impact on determining wear and tear of rotating and none rotating machinery lubricated, preserved or cooled by crude oil derived lubricants and fluids with an online oil sensor system. Starting his first career steps under the guidance of his father and grandfather in the optimization of business processes in the production of wine in his family's own winery.

In his industrial career, before starting his own company cmc Instruments GmbH, he held leading positions, i.e. he worked as the head of product management and later as general manager.

His professional life was never boring: it was always characterized by constant innovations under his leadership. He continuously shaped new processes, new technologies and new products.

Dr. Florian Kongoli holds 3 degrees: a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Science/University of Montreal, Canada and a Doctor of Science Degree/Tohoku University, Japan. Since 1996 he is CEO of FLOGEN Technologies Inc., (www.flogen.com) a Sustainable High Tech applied research institute incorporated in Canada and USA that today have offices and representations in more than 15 Countries around the world while carrying out high tech projects in more than 40 countries.
Since 2007 he is Chairman of FLOGEN STAR OUTREACH (www.flogen.org), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to (1) achieving sustainability through science and technology, (2) raising the profile of science and engineering in the society and (3) properly honoring scientists and engineers.
Since 2003 Dr Kongoli has been President of the Organizing Committee of the Sustainable Industrial Processing Summits (SIPS) held every year in several countries around the world with an average participation of 500 authors from academia, industry, government and the entrepreneurship world representing an average of 80 countries.
Dr Kongoli has about 25 years of rich scientific and applied technology experience through direct involvement in numerous invited engagements in all continents. He has worked with more than 60 well-known chemical and metallurgical companies and several well-known universities around the world.
Dr. Kongoli is has published 77 books and about 190 scientific articles in the last 10 years and has delivered in numerous countries about 200plenary, keynote and invited presentations as well as articles, technical reports and research presentations. He has served in many leadership positions in national and international organizations.
Dr. Kongoli is an Elected Member of Euro Mediterranean Academy of Arts and Sciences (EMAAS) and member of the Industrial Achievement Award Committee of International Federation of Automatic Control. In 2017 he was Awarded “The Environmental Tech CEO of the year 2017” by CEO-Monthly magazine in UK and in 2019 was given the official title of Honorary Citizen of Rio de Janeiro by a special Legislative Decree voted unanimously by the Rio de Janeiro City Council. He is Editorial Board member of several International Journals. He has participated in business and government delegations in numerous countries accompanying Prime Ministers, Minister and other government officials.

Dr. H. L. (Lee) Dodds is IBM Professor of Engineering and Department Head, Emeritus, in the University of Tennessee Nuclear Engineering (UTNE) Department. He joined UTNE in 1976 after working for the DuPont Company at the Savannah River Laboratory for six years. He began serving as UTNE Department Head in early 1997 and led the department to a top ten national ranking by U.S. News and World Report. He also previously worked at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Dr. Dodds has served as a consultant to the U.S. Department of Energy and several American, Canadian, and Dutch research institutes and companies. He currently serves on the External Advisory Boards for the nuclear engineering programs at Ohio State University, Virginia Commonwealth University, and Harbin Engineering University (Harbin, China). He is also an alumnus member of the Accreditation Board of the National Academy for Nuclear Training, which is part of the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations, a past member of the National Board of Directors of the American Nuclear Society (ANS), and a past member of the National Board of Directors of the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI). Dr. Dodds has received many awards during his career including the ANS Arthur Holly Compton National Teaching Award and the Robert L. Long Training Excellence Award. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Tennessee, a Fellow of ANS, and the author of over 200 technical publications. Dr. Samson Mekbib Atnaw graduated with PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Malaysia in 2013. He has worked as Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at University Malaysia Pahang (UMP) and Addis Ababa Science and Technology University (AASTU), Ethiopia. Currently he is serving as a dean for the college of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, at AASTU. His research area is in the field of renewable energy, thermofluids and biomass gasification. He has published more than 40 articles in various peer reviewed journals and he has more than 600 citations. He worked as a reviewer in different ISI indexed journals and served as editor and organizing team of a number of international journals.

Tamer Turna, was born in Stuttgart, Germany in 1967. He graduated from Stanford Graduate School of Business – Executive Education Program (2015), performed his Ph.D. (2001), M.Sc. (1992), UGRD (1990) education at the Technical University Yildiz with the major in mechanical engineering, whereas such education credentials have been accepted by the University of Toronto (2015). Since 01/2020 Dr. Turna was appointed as the Board Advisor and Vice President of KARADENIZ HOLDING A.S., which is the world largest floating type power plants and LNG terminals fleet owner and operator, which’s unit sizes are between 38 MW to 600 MW. Prior to joining KARPOWERSHIP, he worked as engineer, salesman manager, executive manager, C.E.O. and Board Member at companies (first to last) like Stromerzeugung u. Anlagenbau GmbH, Borusan Power Systems AS., CATERPILLAR Power Ventures Inc., MVV Energie AG., E.ON Energy Projects GmbH, E.ON Climate and Renewables Ltd., TES Ltd., Yildirim Energy Holding AS, and cmc Instruments GmbH. His total work experience of 30 years, covers a cumulative capacity of 105 GW installed power generation capacity, having served in design-build-project management-sales-service-develop-finance-invest-asset management-trade, with a business footprint of having chased projects in 54 countries. His is a father of three children.
