Rodrigo Vilela has been CEO of Samarco since 2018, when he took on the challenge of resuming production of the company. He is a metallurgical engineer graduated from the Federal University of Ouro Preto, with an MBA from Fundação Dom Cabral, as well as specializations in the Universities of Cambridge and Kellogg School and MIT. He has more than 25 years of experience in the industry and in the operational management of companies such as AngloGold Ashanti, Anglo American, BHP and Vale. He is a Councillor of the Brazilian Mining Institute (IBRAM), the Federations of Industries of Minas Gerais (FIEMG) and Espírito Santo (FINDES) and the Brazilian Association of Metallurgy, Materials and Mining (ABM).
