SUMMIT WELCOME TO SIPS 2025
sustainability pillars
Aaron Ciechanover
SIPS 2025 is dedicated to Prof. Aaron Ciechanover, 2004 Nobel Laureate - Chemistry
Welcome to Sustainability through Science and Technology / Sustainable Industrial Processing Summit (SIPS 2025), a yearly event since 2003 that is deeply science-focused and industrial engineering-oriented, organized by the not-for-profit corporation FLOGEN Stars Outreach (www.flogen.org) and dedicated to achieving sustainability through science and technology.

The summit is based on the FLOGEN Sustainability Framework as described by Dr. Florian Kongoli in his opening Plenary Lecture at the United Nations Meetings in Geneva in February 2022 (https://www.flogen.org/?p=33&an=2022&m=2). It covers 3 sustainability pillars: (1) Science, Technology & Industry, (2) Governance & Management, and (3) Education & Civil Society as described in left side picture and in its corresponding publication: https://flogen.org/pdf/sips16_524FS.pdf.

SIPS incorporates summit plenary lectures from well-known speakers that address the link between scientific and engineering domains in the pursuit of sustainable development, as well as specific science and engineering symposia that feature scientific and technical presentations with the same goals in mind. SIPS Publications over the years are indexed in Google Scholar, where we have more than 3600 records (https://rb.gy/de0dyk) and Google Scholar Citation Indexes to our publications are: h-index=38 and i10-index=182 (https://rb.gy/zc2qri)

The summit simultaneously incorporates numerous International Symposia covering the fields of: oxidative stress; medical innovations; green chemistry and polymers; physical chemistry; solid state chemistry; solution chemistry; electrochemistry; molten salt and ionic liquids; advanced materials; advanced manufacturing; advanced technologies; iron and steel making; aluminum; batteries; bio-extraction; cement; coal; coatings; composites; ceramics; ecosystems; education; energy production; environment; ferro-alloys; mathematics; metallic systems; metals and alloys; minerals; mining; multiscale materials; nanomaterials; non-ferrous smelting and hydro/electrochemical processing; quasi-crystals; rare earth and platinum group metals; recycling; rotary kiln operations; glass; pharmaceutical sciences; endourology; and agroforestry. The topics within each symposium span across scientific, technological, environmental, health, legal, management, financial, policy, taxation, social, and pedagogical issues. For the full listing of all symposia in this summit, please click on the "Summit" on the left side menu, and then "Symposia" in the dropdown menu.

Under this unique SIPS multidimensional and multidisciplinary umbrella, the summit also honors the 2025 STARS of sustainable science, technology, and innovation with a specific symposium in their honor and bearing their name. In alphabetical order, they are:
