Prof.Dr. Sener Oktik,

I am a senior experimental applied solid state physicist with international academic/industrial research, technological development (RTD) and teaching expertise in the field of inorganic/organic materials in general and specifically in bulk and thin film semiconductor materials. and devices. Besides  the RTD efforts  I have involved in  manufacturing processes from the laboratory scale to  the industrial production line.

I obtained my PhD degree from Durham University (UK) 1982. During my career in academia, I have worked as a lecturer, research scientist, administrator in national and international universities. I served as the third and fourth term of President/Rector of Muğla University between 2002 and 2010. My career in industry has been as research scientist, senior research scientist, seasoned technologist, and senior executive in national and international industrial research and technological development laboratories as well as at production lines. I have worked for BP Research Centres, Imperial Chemical Industries PLC (ICI), (Currently Akza Nobel) (UK), Centre for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research Baden-Württemberg (ZSW-Germany), I have served as the Chief Technology officer (CTO) of Sisecam (Globally  the fifth largest glass company)   between 2012 and 2020.

Over the years  I have involved in professional  and non-governmental organizations at different levels. Currently at international level I am a member of the Advisory Committee of International Commission on Glass, “ICG,” Conference on Coatings on Glass and Plastics,” ICCG,” Society of Vacuum Coaters “SVC,” The Centre for Functional and Surface Functionalized Glass (Slovakia),  the Scientific Committee of “European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference “EU-PVSEC” and  I represent Turkish Physical Society at the European Physical Society (EPS). At national level I am the Honorary Chairman Turkish Solar Energy Industry Association, a member of Steering Committee of Turkish Clean Energy Foundation, Turkish Physical Society, a member of advisory committee of İş Enerji,  a member of Board of Trustees of Sıtkı Koçman Foundation, Birleşim Yeşil Enerji, Turkish Fundamental Sciences Research Foundation. Currently I am a senior lecturer at Maltepe University, an adjunct researcher at Middle Technical University Solar energy Research and Application Centre. I am an author/co-author of over 150 scientific and technical publications and inventor/co-inventor of two world patents.
