Besfort Rrecaj

Short Bio:

Besfort Rrecaj is an Associate Professor at the University of Prishtina Faculty of Law specializing in international law. Currently he serves as a member of the Kosovo’s Permanent Tribunal of Arbitration. As an arbiter he sat on cases both as an individual arbiter as well as a member of an Arbitration Tribunal. He has an extensive expertise in working with public, private, intergovernmental and NGO institutions such as the Constitutional Court of Kosovo a legal advisor, Ministry of European Integration as senior policy advisor, Agency for European Integration and Coordination of Donors as chief executive office etc. Other experience includes positions in legal affairs with the Alliance Française, OSCE, American Bar Association, Euro-Atlantic Association of Kosovo, Save the Children, Open Data Kosovo etc.

His teaching mobility include co-director and a lecturer of a course at the Inter-University Center Dubrovnik-Croatia and Prishtina International Summer University. Further, he was a guest lecturer at Lancaster University-UK. Recently he attended conferences and related activities in Istanbul-Türkiye, Zagreb-Croatia, Dubrovnik-Croatia, San Francisco-USA among others.

Besfort’s education portfolio includes education at the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School, University of Prishtina, University of Pittsburgh, the Vienna Diplomatic Academy and the George C. Marshal European Center for Security Studies.

His research focuses on international law and relation issues. His research is published with publishers and journal in Europe and the USA.

Besfort Rrecaj believes in creativity and constructivist approach to law making and application to the benefit of global society.
