Short Bio:
Prof. Koji Fukui, 48, studied at Shibaura Institute of Technology, which is the leading private engineering university in kanto area of Japan. He graduated and completed a PhD degree in 2003 at Shibaura Institute of Technology.
Between 2003 and 2004, Prof. Fukui worked as a post-doctoral student in the third internal medicine of Faculty of medicine at Wakayama Medical University. Between 2004 and 2008, Prof. Fukui worked as an Assistant Professor in Faculty of science at Hokkaido University. After 2008, Professor Fukui began his career at Shibaura Institute of Technology. Between 2014 and 2015, Professor Fukui went to study abroad in Translational Gerontology Branch at National Institute on Aging. His research is based on a fusion of engineering, medicine and science.
He is currently a board member of director of the Society for Japanese Biomedical and Gerontology, and a Chair of 2024 annual meeting, a local organizing committee member of the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics-Asia Oceania Region 2023. He is an executive director of Journal of Clinical Biochemistry and Nutrition, and his research contributions are presently disclosed in over 100 primary research publications.
In addition to his research activities, Professor Fukui participates in a number of associations focused on free radical and nutritional research, including the Society of Free Radical Research Japan, the Japan Vitamin Society of Japan.
