Short Bio:

Dr. Juan Luis Delgado has been working the last 22 years on the fields of Organic Materials for Photovoltaics, Light Harvesting and Artificial Photosynthetic Systems. He obtained his Ph.D. in Chemistry at UCLM (Spain) in 2004. Afterwards, he joined the group of Prof. J.-F. Nierengarten, at the ECPM-CNRS (Strasbourg, France) where he worked as a postdoctoral fellow. He then joined the group of Prof. N. Martín at University Complutense of Madrid as a “Juan de la Cierva” postdoctoral fellow. From 2008 to 2014, he was a Senior “Ramón & Cajal” Researcher at IMDEA-Nanoscience (Madrid, Spain). In 2013, he was awarded with the “Young Researcher Award” of RSEQ-Lilly Spain and the “Emerging Investigator Award” of RSEQ-Sigma-Aldrich Spain. In 2014, he was awarded with an “Ikerbasque Research Fellowship” and became the leader of the Hybrid Materials for Energy group at POLYMAT (Donostia-San Sebastián, Spain). In 2019, he was promoted to Ikerbasque Research Associate in BERC Polymat. His publication record includes 85 publications (H=37> 4400 citations google scholar) in prestigious international journals such as J. Am. Chem. Soc., Ang. Chem. Int. Ed., Chem. Soc. Rev, Energy & Environ. Sci., Chem. Sci., Adv. Energy Mater., and several book chapters. His teaching and mentoring experience include supervising of several Ph.D. Students (8), and advisory of 8 postdocs. He has served as Guest editor of the special issue “Carbon Nanoforms for Photovoltaics” in Advanced Energy Materials (I.F. 29.36) and on the thematic issue “Organic Materials for Energy Conversion and Storage” in Sustainable Energy and Fuels (I.F. 6.36) He has participated in 18 projects as associated researcher from different funding agencies: Spanish Government, European Commission. Juan Luis Delgado has participated in 13 Projects as Principal Researcher or participant: 5 from the Spanish Government, 2 from Basque Government, 3 from Gipuzkoa Council, 2 from Iberdrola foundation and 1 from UPV/EHU. ( ~ 1,100 000 € obtained in competitive research calls) Juan Luis Delgado was the President and member of the executive board of the group of Young chemists (JIQ) of the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry (2009-2011). He is reviewer of the following scientific journals: Nature Reviews Chemistry, Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Chem.-Eur. J., Adv. Mater., Adv. Funct. Mater., Adv. Energy Mater., Chem. Commun., Energy Environ. Sci., J. Org. Chem. He is reviewer of the following funding agencies in Europe, America and Asia.
