Shozo Yanagida

Short Bio:

Shozo Yanagida is Emeritus Professor at Osaka University and representative director of M3 Laboratory Inc., at Osaka University. He is one of the pioneers of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC) and perovskite solar cells (PVSC) with regards to material development and fundamental research. He recently revealed that density functional theory-based molecular modeling (DFT/MM) verifies high efficiency of both DSSC and PVSC owing to iodine element-derived powerful van der Waals (vdW) aggregations. He is extending DFT/MM to verify anti-oxidative effect of iodine element on mitochondria in living cells.
