Igor Konyashin

Short Bio:

Dr. Igor Konyashin, Manager of Research and Development, Element Six GmbH. Graduated from the National University of Science and Technology MISiS in 1982 and obtained PhD from the same University in 1985. Was employed at the Hard and Refractory Metals Research Institute, Moscow, Russia, from 1985 till 1995. In 1995 moved to the Max Planck Institute for Metals Research, Stuttgart, Germany. Since 1999 has been employed at Element Six GmbH. The field of research interests includes hard and superhard materials, CVD of refractory compounds, PACVD of diamond, c-BN and novel carbon materials, high-pressure high-temperature synthesis of polycrystalline diamond and carbon materials, etc. An author of about 100 research papers published in refereed journals, 2 books, a number of book chapters and more than 100 patents.
