Dr. Florian Kongoli holds 3 degrees: a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Science/University of Montreal, Canada and a Doctor of Science Degree/Tohoku University, Japan. Since 1996 he is CEO of FLOGEN Technologies Inc., (www.flogen.com) a Sustainable High Tech applied research institute incorporated in Canada and USA that today have offices and representations in more than 15 Countries around the world while carrying out high tech projects in more than 40 countries.
Since 2007 he is Chairman of FLOGEN STAR OUTREACH (www.flogen.org), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to (1) achieving sustainability through science and technology, (2) raising the profile of science and engineering in the society and (3) properly honoring scientists and engineers.
Since 2003 Dr Kongoli has been President of the Organizing Committee of the Sustainable Industrial Processing Summits (SIPS) held every year in several countries around the world with an average participation of 500 authors from academia, industry, government and the entrepreneurship world representing an average of 80 countries.
Dr Kongoli has about 25 years of rich scientific and applied technology experience through direct involvement in numerous invited engagements in all continents. He has worked with more than 60 well-known chemical and metallurgical companies and several well-known universities around the world.
Dr. Kongoli is has published 77 books and about 190 scientific articles in the last 10 years and has delivered in numerous countries about 200plenary, keynote and invited presentations as well as articles, technical reports and research presentations. He has served in many leadership positions in national and international organizations.
Dr. Kongoli is an Elected Member of Euro Mediterranean Academy of Arts and Sciences (EMAAS) and member of the Industrial Achievement Award Committee of International Federation of Automatic Control. In 2017 he was Awarded “The Environmental Tech CEO of the year 2017” by CEO-Monthly magazine in UK and in 2019 was given the official title of Honorary Citizen of Rio de Janeiro by a special Legislative Decree voted unanimously by the Rio de Janeiro City Council. He is Editorial Board member of several International Journals. He has participated in business and government delegations in numerous countries accompanying Prime Ministers, Minister and other government officials.

BIO of Michaela Barinova

Michaela Barinova (née Uhlirova) obtained her Bachelor and Master degrees at University of Southern Bohemia, in Biology and Parasitology, respectively.
In 2005 she joined Tomas Bata University in Zlin, Faculty of Applied Informatics, as a researcher in the team of Prof. Karel Kolomaznik. In 2013 she obtained her PhD in Technology of Macromolecular Substances at Tomas Bata University in Zlin, Faculty of Technology with a Thesis on “Optimization of raw hide preservation”. From Dec 2013 to Aug 2015 she took a postdoctoral position during which she spent 3 months at Slovak University of Technology, Faculty of Chemical and Food Technology in Bratislava.
Since 2015 she is a researcher at Tomas Bata University in Zlín, Faculty of Applied Informatics, Regional Research Center CEBIA-Tech.
Her research interests include diffusion in natural polymers, leather technology, processing of solid waste from the leather industry, chromium control in wastes from tanneries, fiber proteins (collagen, keratin), protein hydrolysates and natural product chemistry.
Awards and Recognitions
• 2012 Werner von Siemens Excellence Award, Czech Republic (top free finalists) in category „Most significant achievement in the field of development and innovation"–proposal of a technology for complex processing of tannery waste fats (research group: Kolomaznik K., Barinova M., Pecha J., Sanek and Plsek S.).
• 2014 - Certificate of Merit from the Dean of Faculty of Applied Informatics for significant contribution to the development of R&D activities of the Faculty
She has participated in both national and international research projects (funded e.g. by EUREKA, Foreign Talents Science, Technology and Innovation grants in Vietnam), and besides publications in peer-reviewed journals she is co-author of a European patent. She also repeatedly taught a 2-day intensive training course on collagen in Devro company, Jilemnice, Czech Republic.

BIO of Farman Ahmed

Bio-sketch Farman Ahmed (PhD)
Farman Ahmed obtained his M.Sc. degree in Chemistry in 1997 from the Bahawalpur, the southern part of the Punjab Province of Pakistan. In 1998, he joined the International Centre for Chemical & Biological Sciences, HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry, University of Karachi, Pakistan for Ph. D. program. He conducted research in the Medicinal Chemistry of Marine plants. After the doctoral thesis in 2003, he joined the Pakistan Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (PCSIR) and worked in medicinal chemistry. In 2004, he transferred to a different division of PSCIR i.e. the Leather Research Center in Karachi where he served as the Quality Manager & Senior Scientist.
Leather is among the leading exports of Pakistan and its quality control testing is vital to consumer acceptance of leather products. In LRC, Dr. Ahmed studied the optimization of the extraction efficiencies of harmful substances (e.g. azo dyes, formaldehyde, banned aromatic amines, chlorophenols and fungicides). Also the development of environmental friendly leather chemical development was being his important task at LRC.
In 2009, Ahmed was awarded the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Fellowship to conduct research in USA to explore environmental impact of the textile and leather industries. Eco-friendly chemical advances was of his major research interests.
Dr. Ahmed visited Middle Tennessee State University & University of California, Davis during his stay in United States.
In 2019, Ahmed has been moved to look after the Food Safety Section of PCSIR Karachi. There, his role is to develop Detoxification Technologies to Mitigate Mycotoxins in Food Commodities. Ahmed is keen to work with Health & Environment friendly products improvement.

BIO of Hasan Ozgunay

Prof.Dr. Hasan Ozgunay studied Leather Technology at the University of Ege (Turkiye) 1991-1995. After working in Leather Industry for one year, he joined the staff of Leather Engineering Department as research assistant in 1996. He obtained his M.Sc. in the same department in 2000. He studied on vegetable tanning materials and obtained his Ph.D. in Leather Engineering in 2005. He is currently working as researcher / lecturer in Leather Engineering Department. His research activities and fields of interests are; tanning materials, leather processing technologies and cleaner leather processing methodologies.

BIO of Keyong Tang

Dr. Keyong Tang obtained his PH.D in 1998 from Sichuan University, China, and got the full professor position in 2002. He worked as a visiting scholar in Texas Tech. University (USA) in 2008-2009, and had the experience of senior visiting scholars in University of British Columbia (Canada, 2014), University of Groningen (Netherlands, 2016), and University of Western Ontario (Canada, 2018).
Research Interests: As the Director of the International Joint Laboratory of Biomass Resources and Materials (IJLBRM) of Henan Province, Dr. Keyong Tang’s research fields include: (1) Structure and Properties of Leather and Collagen; (2) Extraction and Application of Collagen for Biomedical Materials; (3) Intelligent Materials Based on Natural Polymers; (4) Cleaner Leather Making Technologies; (5) Recycling of Tannery Solid Waste and Chrome Tanned Liquors; and (6) Key Technologies for the Protection of Organic Material Relics.

BIO of Nguyen Nhu Thanh

Mr Nguyen Nhu Thanh was born in 1970 in Hanoi city, Vietnam. He graduated from Hanoi University of Science and Technology in 1992 with a degree in materials technology engineering. He then went on to study Jurisprudence at Ulianov University in Russia where he obtained his first master's degree in 1997. A second master's degree was granted in 2019 about Management of Science and Technology at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Ha Noi City. In 1998, he joined Chrisal NV Group (Belgium) in Moscow - Russia as a biotechnology expert. After more than 10 years studying and working in Russia, in 2010 he returned to Vietnam and held the position of director of Chrisal Vietnam Co., Ltd., headquartered in Long Bien, Hanoi, which is a branch of Chrisal NV Group in Asia region. In 2011, he joined the Leather and Shoes Research Institute as a researcher and is currently the director of Centre for Application Research and New Technology Transfer, which is a center of the Institute's organizational system. During his work at the Leather and Shoes Research Institute, he participated in and chaired many state-level research projects and the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The research direction mainly focuses on technological processes in the field of the environment such as:
• Leather solid waste treatment technology.
• Methods and systems for treating domestic wastewater and wastewater from the tanning industry, dyeing, and textile, aquatic product processing wastewater ...
• Probiotics for soil improvement.
Many research results have been patented in Vietnam and implemented in industrial practice, such as MBG-OAAO methods and systems for treating wastewater (Microbubble - Oxic - Anoxic - Aerobic - Oxic )...
