Short Bio:Daniela Paola Boso is Associate Professor of Mechanics of Solids and Structures at the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering of the University of Padova. She is member of the Scientific and Internationalization Committee of the Department, faculty member of the Ph.D. School in Civil and Environmental Engineering Sciences of University of Padova, elected member of the Academic Scientific Committee for Structural, Transportation and Geotechnical Engineering Area. Research interests: homogenisation of non-linear composites, contact mechanics in coupled thermo-electro-mechanical field, artificial neural networks (ANNs) in hierarchical modeling, ANN models for parameter identification and medical application of multifunctional nano-particles for biomedical imaging and therapy, multiphase porous media modeling applied to tumor growth, diabetic foot and bioinspired scaffolds. The developed models have been applied successfully to the analysis of electro-thermo-mechanical problems in superconducting coils for energy applications (nuclear fusion); mechanical degradation of fibrous composites and tissues (diabetic foot, scaffolds for osteochondral defect repair, spinal fusion scaffolds and glioblastoma cancer); structural health monitoring and damage detection. Daniela P. Boso serves in the editorial board of Mathematical Problems in Engineering, is reviewer for several ISI journals and is author of more than 130 scientific publications in international journals, books and conference proceedings. |
