Alfredo Soldati

Short Bio:

Alfredo Soldati is Professor of Fluid Mechanics at the Technische Universitaet Wien (Austria). The focus of his research group is on multiphase dispersed flows, trying to capture the inherent multiscale aspects from the fundamentals to the applications. The numerical laboratory and the experimental laboratory perform researches on turbulent dispersed flows of particles, bubbles, droplets and fibers that apply to industrial problems and environmental protection. Guest Professor at EPFL, at INP Toulouse and Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, Pisa, Dr. Soldati is also part time professor in the University of Udine. Dr. Soldati is the 2018 recipient of the Panetti-Ferrari prize from Accademia delle Scienze di Torino, he is Fellow of the American Physical Society, and he is the recipient of the 2007 Knapp award and of the 2015 Lewis F. Moody Award from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Dr. Soldati is Editor in Chief of International Journal of Multiphase Flow and, since 2019, he is Rector at the International Center for Mechanical Sciences (CISM) in Udine.
