Nina Kostevšek

Short Bio:

Nina Kostevšek obtained her PhD in 2016 in Nanosciences and nanotechnologies at the International Postgraduate School Jozef Stefan, Ljubljana, Slovenia. In 2015 she worked as a visiting researcher for 4 months at the University of Bologna, Italy and in 2016-2017 as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK. In 2017, she was selected as one of the most promising early-career researchers to attend the 67th meeting with Nobel laureates in chemistry. Moreover, in October 2018, the scientific research council for technology of Slovenian Research Agency has recognized the study published in the journal Nanoscale “The development of hybrid nanoparticles for the cancer treatment and magnetic resonance imaging”, where she was the first author, as one of the top scientific achievements in the year 2018 (Excellent in Science 2018 award). Now she is employed at the Jozef Stefan Institute in Slovenia, where she obtained national funds for a 2-year project on the development of multi-functional liposomes.
