Short Bio:Pasquale started his Bachelor studies in Physics at the Università degli Studi di Napoli "Federico II". After the Master's in Astronomy and Astrophysics from the Università degli Studi di Roma "La Sapienza", he moved to Canada for his PhD in Theoretical Physics in 2015 at the University of Lethbridge, Alberta, where he has been as well awarded the Silver Medal of Merit for excellence in doctoral studies. Soon after his PhD, he continued his research activities at the University of Lethbridge, where he also taught undergraduate courses as sessional lecturer. In August 2018, he moved to Leòn, Guanajuato, Mèxico, for his first postdoc. He is currently an assistant professor at the University of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, where he joined the Physics and Astronomy department in August 2019. Pasquale's research involves aspects of Quantum Gravity Phenomenology, that is considering phenomena of theories of quantum gravity on low-energy scales with the aim of detecting new Physics. In particular, his current research, as well as his doctoral thesis, concerns a modification of Heisenberg's uncertainty principle to reproduce the existence of a minimal measurable length, as predicted by candidate quantum gravity theories. |
