Short Bio:

Marek LEFIK, professor at the Lodz University of Technology, Łódź (Poland),\\r\\nDean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environmental Engineering; Head of the Department of Geotechnical Engineering and Engineering Structures. M.Sc., Civil Engineer, Master’s degree at the Technical University of Lodz (TUL), in 1977; PhD degree at TUL, thesis on some applications of asymptotic analysis in theory of composite plates. Habiltation also at TUL in 2006, on applications of Artificial Neural Networks in mechanics and engineering. Full professor since 2016.\\r\\nResearch areas: Asymptotic methods in theoretical and applied mechanics; Theory of materials with microstructure (composites), constitutive modelling; Numerical methods in mechanics of continua and mechanics of structures, Finite Element Method; Modelling of coupled thermo-mechanical behaviour of cable-like composites for superconducting magnets; Artificial Intelligence, in particular - theory and practical applications of Artificial Neural Networks in Mechanics; Expert Programs in Engineering and Mechanics.
