Short Bio:Aleksandr Nemov is an associate professor and head of research group at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Mechanics and Controls Department, where he is conducting research in the broad field of computational mechanics. Alexander completed his PhD at St. Petersburg Polytechnic University in 2013 with the thesis "Finite element simulation and research of mechanical behavior of cables with multilevel composite structure". Alexander's main research interests lie in the area of multiphysics and multiscale simulations, including mechanics of materials and engineering for fusion devices. Alexander has collaborated with reputable industrial companies and research institutes including Schlumberger, International Centre for Mechanical Sciences, Forschungszentrum Juelich, Ioffe Physico-Technical Institute, Kurchatov Institute, and others, providing the research for their applied and fundamental needs. From 2017, Alexander also serves as an associate editor for Materials Physics and Mechanics journal. |
