Short Bio:I am the head of the laboratory of high pure substances. Graduated Lomonosov University, Ph.D. 1989, Doctor of Science (Chemistry) 2011. My research work deals with obtaining fluoride glasses, transparent in th wide optical range, and doping the glass compositions with rare earth elements and manganese ions as well. The development of laser engineering and fiber optics is impossible without novel transparent materials for transmitting optical radiation. Rare-earth-doped optical halogenides of metals with a low-frequency phonon spectrum are of great interest for the middle-IR lasers. Fluoride glasses may be potentially attractive as laser materials. The important advantage of these glasses over silica glass is that they are transparent from the near-UV to mid-IR spectral region (0.295–7.5 μm) |
