Ilan Riess

Short Bio:

Dr. Ilan Riess is Professor Emeritus of Physics in the Physics Department of the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, where he is heading the Laboratory of Solid State Ionics. He researches theoretically and experimentally the properties of devices based on mixed-ionic-electronic-conductor (MIEC) devices. These devices are of interest in solid state electrochemistry and as semiconductors, among others for computer memories. He does also research on processes at solid-oxide-fuel-cell (SOFC) electrodes and heterogeneous catalysis on oxides and collaborates with Prof. Vayenas on the new model of elementary particles proposed by Prof. Vayenas. Prof. Riess recently started to research organic monolayers on water.
