Short Bio:Dr. Dayal T. Meshri is the Founder, President and CEO of Advance Research Chemicals, Inc., based in Catoosa, Oklahoma, with facilities in the USA, Mexico and India. The company is one of the world’s largest producers of specially fluorine-based chemical products. Born on March 11, 1936, in British India, Meshri’s family fled from Pakistan to India during the 1947 Partition. He received his B.Sc. (Hons) and M.Sc. from Gujarat University (1962), Ph.D. from the University of Idaho (1968), and did Postdoctoral work at Cornell University (1967-69). He was Research Director at Ozark-Mahoning Co. (Pennwalt) from 1969-1986, and in 1987, Meshri established Advance Research Chemicals, Inc. The company has expanded from the initial single 3,000 square foot facility to multiple facilities occupying more than 250,000 square feet, with an international production footprint and more than 146 employees. Meshri’s research interests vary from rocket propellants to high energy battery systems, electronics, CVD materials, ion implantation gases, surface treatment products, UV-curing materials for automobile and pharmaceutical industries. Meshri has contributed to 3 editions of Encyclopedia of Chemical Technology (Kirk-Othmer), and several books as author and co-author. He has several publications and patents to his credit. He is professionally recognized as an Expert Industrial Fluorine Chemist who has worked in the field of fluorine chemistry over 55 years and has served the American Chemical Society in various capacities. He travels globally and collaborates with various research institutes in the world. He has received many honors and awards, just to mention a few. Recently, in 2018, he was awarded Doctor of Science, D.Sc. (Hon.) by the University of Idaho, he was inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame (2008), and Distinguished Alumni in the College of Science Academy (2010). He was inducted into the Tulsa City Hall of Fame (2017), received the Global Citizenship Award by the United Nations of Eastern Oklahoma (2017), OCCJ Award (2016), and many more. He has served on the boards of various academic and social institutes. He is a philanthropist, has built schools, colleges, and contributes to many social charities, and has established scholarships for the needy students at 4 universities. |
