Short Bio:Bernard Raveau is Emeritus Professor at the University of Caen, where he received his PhD degree (1966). Founder of CRISMAT, the CNRS-ENSICAEN Laboratory for Crystallography and Materials in 1986 and of the CNRT Matériaux (National Research Centre of Technology for Materials) in 2000, he is a specialist of crystal chemistry of transition metal oxides. He is Member of the Institut Universitaire de France, Member of Académie des Sciences,Member of the Indian Academy, Member of the Academia Europea and Fellow of the Royal Society. He has authored 1400 journal publications mainly devoted to high Tc superconducting cuprates, CMR manganites, magnetic and thermoelectric cobaltates and transition metal phosphates. Additionally, he is co-author to 3 books: “Crystal Chemistry of High Tc Superconducting copper oxides” (1991); “Transition Metal Oxides” (1995); and “Cobalt oxides: from Crystal Chemistry to Physics” (2012). He is the recipient of numerous awards, including: European Prize Italgaz, Grande Médaille d’Or de la Société d’Encouragement pour l’Industrie Nationale, Médaille d’Argent du CNRS, Grand Prix Pierre Sue de la Société Chimique de France, Bernd Matthias Prize, Distinguished Fellow of the Bangalore Nehru Centre, Chevalier de l’Ordre National de la Légion d’Honneur, Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite, Commandeur des Palmes Académiques. |
