Ms. Emily Hersh

Emily Sarah Hersh is currently the founder and CEO of an exploration company focused on uranium and battery material minerals required for the energy transition with projects in Paraguay, Brazil and Uruguay,

She is a well-known lithium industry expert and is the co-host of the popular Global Lithium Podcast (www.lithiumpodcast.com). Emily manages projects in South America for companies in the mining, energy, oil and gas industries. Her specialization in lithium includes project due diligence, country risk assessment and emerging battery technologies. She manages a private family office fund dedicated to raw materials in the battery supply chain.

Emily has given keynote speeches on lithium, energy storage, renewable energy in Latin America, and emerging battery technology at events hosted by The Institute of the Americas, Metal Bulletin, Fastmarkets, Benchmark Mineral Intelligence, Euromoney, GFC Media, Greenpower Conferences, SolarPlaza, and many others.

She has appeared on CNN and Al-Jazeera America in relation to Argentina’s economy, and her work is frequently featured in Business Insider, The Bubble, Wolf Street, and InfoBAE. She is regularly quoted in The Financial Times, Bloomberg, and Reuters related to lithium and battery materials.

Emily was a founder of AMES Argentina, the Association of Women in Energy and Sustainability in Argentina. She is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma international sorority, and a member of the Electrochemical Society.

Emily has a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Tulane University, a MA in International Affairs from American University, and has done graduate coursework in Renewable Energy at the Instituto Tecnologico de Buenos Aires (ITBA).

She specializes in mining and energy in South America. Her current focus is on lithium and other battery materials, as well as energy storage technology. She has:

• Advised mining and lithium companies related to Argentina government relations and international treasury and cash management strategy. Clients include: Fortuna Silver Mine, Grosso Group, Galaxy Resources, Orion Mine Finance, Neo Lithium, Minera Exar, YPF, Puna Energy Metals, and others


• Participated in London Metal Exchange (LME) working groups to develop first lithium spot price index


• Developed Hualilan gold project in San Juan, Argentina with owners through acquisition by ASX listed Challenger Exploration (CEL)


• Advised Plateau Energy Metals related to Peru lithium project, including government relations, investment community engagement, and relationships with US government organizations in critical minerals space


• Advised governments on the role of exploration and mining in the battery supply chain, including United States Congress, State of Georgia, Federal Government of Peru, Province of Catamarca, Argentina


• Advised Sichuan Yahua Industrial Group on lithium investments and offtake agreements in South America


• Advised Pure Lithium (www.purelithium.io) Boston-based lithium metal battery technology company through multiple investment rounds and expansion from 1to 50 employees and lab construction. Authored white papers on lithium metal and solid state battery technology


• Led Leclanché Energy Storage Solutions sales efforts for battery systems tailored for large mining projects in the process of incorporating renewable energy generation in Chile, Peru, and Argentina
