Curriculum Vitae:
Dr. Philippe Poizot is presently a full Professor in the Department of Chemistry at University of Nantes (France) and junior member of the Institut Universitaire de France (IUF). He is currently developing his research activity in the field of batteries at the Institut des Materiaux Jean Rouxel (UMR CNRS 6502) in Nantes. After a Master of Science in Analytical Chemistry (1998) from University of Paris VI, he did his PhD in Materials science under the supervision of Prof. J.M. Tarascon (University of Picardie/LRCS, Amiens, 2001). During this period, he demonstrated the electrochemical reversibility of "conversion reactions" with several 3d metal-based chalcogenides/halides when cycled versus lithium. Then he joined Switzer's group (University of Missouri-Rolla, USA) as postdoctoral researcher to explore the electrodeposition of nanostructured materials and enantiospecific catalysts. Between 2002 and 2012, he worked at University of Picardie/LRCS (Amiens) as Associate Professor. Its current research topics are mainly focused on the development of redox-active organic electrode materials to promote greener batteries based on renewable matter. His work has resulted in publication of approximately 70 peer-reviewed journal articles (including Nature and Nature Materials), book chapter, and extended abstracts as well as three patents.
